“Do Not Be Afraid”
Text: Matthew 28:1-10
On this Easter Sunday, we hear the gospel of Matthew’s account of Jesus’ resurrection. In His death, Jesus had taken on our sin and was abandoned by the world. Yet when God raised that despised One from the dead, it showed that there is no sin that God cannot raise. The resurrection of Jesus from the dead by our Lord is also the hope of our own salvation, since there is nothing we can do that will drive us too far away from God. We cannot be separated from God so far that he will not welcome us back with his grace and save us from sin and share with us the promise of the resurrection.
