We conclude our series of Jesus’ words on the cross by looking at the Gospel of Luke’s account of His death. Breath is necessary for living, both breathing in, and breathing out. In order to receive life and breath, one has to be willing to breathe out and to expire. The Good News of Easter is that Jesus, having given His spirit fully to God, is the recipient of breath. For every breath of God we take in, we also have to breathe it out and share it with those around us.
