Text: Mark 10:32-45
For the third time in the Gospel of Mark, Jesus warns His disciples that he’s going to die in Jerusalem. Seemingly ignorant of this warning, James and John ask to be beside Jesus in His glory. Jesus calls His disciples together and reminds them the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve. As we’ve seen during our study of the Gospel of Mark, the glory of God is not exhibited among the powerful but instead among those who have nothing. Even today, the glory of God is pleased to dwell precisely where we find ourselves with words of grace and encouragement.
