Jesus’ transfiguration in front of the disciples comes at a time not long after He told them that He would have to die and be raised again. This shows us that the power of God is not just found in mountain-top experiences or exhibitions of power. It also comes in the moments of rejection and destruction. Even on the cross, God is present, and He is present with us as we “carry our crosses.”
