“Training for Glory… Getting Back Up”
Text: Luke 23:26-31
This week, we look at the story of Jesus going to the cross. He has already been arrested, mistreated, and the road leads to certain death. Unable to physically carry it, Simon of Cyrene carries Jesus’ cross for Him, trailing behind Him. Simon embodies the call Jesus made to His disciples when He told them that they would need to take up their cross and follow Him. As disciples today, we need to carry this same cross – the commitment to love God and our neighbor, even in the face of the powers of this world that seek to control and destroy.
