“Praying Our Way to Pentecost: Our Call to Prayer”
Text: Acts 5:27-32
The next few weeks we are going to look at prayer and how prayer affects our life. This passage of scripture isn’t explicitly about prayer, but it is about how hold we are to trust what the Holy Spirit is able to do. We recognize the Holy Spirit moved in a mighty way at Pentecost and we are praying that the Holy Spirit will similarly move in a mighty way in not just our lives, but also in the lives of loved ones, in the lives of our neighbors, that God would bring repentance in our communities and our neighborhoods. Through this Easter season we are going to be praying to participate in whatever ways God might call us to help be a part of the saving, resurrecting power of God in the lives of people; to speak when we’re able to speak about God’s grace, testify about where the Holy Spirit is working; to talk about freedom given, and pray that God’s Holy Spirit will give freedom from sin in our life and will ultimately give freedom from death.
