“Sacrifices: Covenant”
Text: Genesis 15:1-21
Scripture is filled with references to sacrifices. As we reach the first Sunday in Lent, we begin a new sermon series looking at these stories in order to better understand Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross and what that entails. Today, we examine the story of Abram and his sacrifice, which marks the beginning of a covenantal relationship with God. God promises that He will be with Abram and with Abram’s descendants to help them overcome whatever comes their way. We find that this is the same promise God makes to all who will believe in faith, and He has a plan and a future for us and will walk with us until that end.
