Text: 1 Peter 3:8-22
Pastor Tim returns and we resume our look at the book of 1 Peter. If Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and earthly powers lost their authority because of the resurrection, what does this mean for the early Church? With the thought that Jesus would return within their generation, it is not difficult to imagine that there were those who focused on themselves and tried to take advantage of their newfound freedom. Peter reminds them that the power of Jesus isn’t about new freedoms for themselves but about new freedoms for how we live towards others; earthly service to the ones whom Jesus loves and died for.
