Pentecost Sunday
Text: 1 Peter 5:1-14
We complete our reading of 1 Peter, which ends with a promise of deliverance; that “the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.” On this Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives that does just that; that supports us, that strengthens us, and establishes us in God’s family. Casting our cares on God brings the power of the Holy Spirit for holiness, the discipline of love, and the humility to serve those around us.
